The Soundtrack Between the Lines

Music has always been my love language. It moves through me like memory, like instinct, like something older than thought. So it’s no surprise that music found its way into The Harbinger; not as an afterthought, but as a vital current running beneath the surface.

You’ll find references scattered throughout the story. Not just background noise, but intentional soundtracks to key moments. Sometimes the songs anchor a scene. Sometimes they hint at something deeper. A breadcrumb, if you’re paying attention.

I wrote them that way on purpose.

These are songs I’ve danced to in my own kitchen. The music that has played on road trips, that has held me in moments of stillness, grief, joy, nostalgia. The Harbinger isn’t just a story I created, it’s a world I know. And music helped me build it.

For those who want to walk alongside the story through sound, I’ve created a Harbinger playlist. It includes many of the tracks featured in the book, as well as others that inspired the writing.

If you’re on the email list, you already have access to it. If not, there’s still time to sign up and receive your link.

Because sometimes, music says what the page can only hint at. And some stories, like songs, live in the space between the lines.
