Friendship as a Form of Magic
There’s a thread that runs through every chapter of The Harbinger, A Triquetra Chronicle, and it’s not only mystery or mysticism. It’s friendship.
When I first began weaving this story, I knew that the bonds between women would form its heart. Across both timelines, friendships become a kind of magic in themselves - offering strength, grounding and sometimes the courage to face what lies ahead.
In the present day, Sophia’s circle holds space for her as she steps into new callings. In the 16th century, Ann leans on her companions in a world that doesn’t always allow women to walk openly in their truth. Though centuries apart, these friendships mirror one another in their resilience.
I think that’s something we all know deep down: friendship is transformative. Our chosen families are the ones who celebrate us, challenge us and remind us who we are when we’ve forgotten. They make life brighter, and when the world feels heavy, they make it bearable.
That’s the magic I wanted to capture in The Harbinger. The reminder that while history changes, and time moves forward, the power of friendship endures.
As you read, I hope you see reflections of your own circle; and maybe even feel inspired to gather them around a table, open a bottle of wine, and let stories of your own unfold.
