The Power of the Triquetra: A Symbol Across Time

Some symbols catch our attention and never let go. For me, the triquetra was one of those. I first noticed it years ago in the TV show Charmed, and even then it felt like more than just a design. It carried weight; a quiet whisper of something ancient, layered and powerful.

Over time, Celtic symbols continued to speak to me. They always seemed to echo back ideas of connection, eternity and cycles; reminders that life is both fragile and infinite. After the loss of Violet, the triquetra took on an even deeper meaning in my life. It became a personal touchstone, representing the threads of love and memory that endure no matter what form they take.

So when I began writing The Harbinger, A Triquetra Chronicle, the triquetra naturally found its place at the center. Its three interwoven points mirror so many elements of the story:

  • The dual timelines of past and present, and the future they point toward

  • The intertwining of mysticism, history and friendship

  • The balance between what is seen, what is hidden and what is eternal

Like the number sequences and songs scattered through the book, the triquetra is one of the quiet “Easter eggs” I left behind for readers who feel its pull. It’s more than decoration; it’s a reminder that our lives and stories are never lived in isolation. We are always connected - to each other, to our past and to something larger than ourselves.

I believe that’s why symbols matter. They give shape to the unseen, anchoring us in ways words alone sometimes can’t.

As you read The Harbinger, A Triquetra Chronicle, keep an eye out for the triquetra. And maybe, notice where it’s been showing up in your own life too.
